I don't know what to do. So I'm running for president. There are many forms my platform can take... I'll give you the short one, just dealing with the US Wehrmacht :
I will issue an executive order on 20 January, 2013 for all American troops in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Libya, Yemen, Somalia, Iran... wherever they are then presently waging war to stand down, to pack-up, to be back home within these United States within 90 days, by 20 April 2013.
On 20 January, 2013, citing national security interests, I will cancel all development of new, aggressive weapons... aircraft, tanks, submarines, spacecraft and the like... and turn our Department of War into a Department of Defense. One capable of forestalling attacks such as occurred on 9/11 2001.
I will have closed, packed up, and returned all American personnel from no fewer than 350 of our 700+ military bases around the world, explicitly including all bases in Europe and Okinawa, by 20 January 2014.
I think we all need to articulate our own personal solutions to the problems our nation faces, publicize them, get together and interview candidates to implement our pooled considered wisdom, and or run ourselves in the event that no one fitting our own personal requirements is forthcoming.
I don't know what else to do. All existing American institutions are broken. We have only ourselves to fall back upon.
